Dr. Stephen Harvey is Professor in Sport Pedagogy at Ohio University. Stephen's research is focused on teacher/coach pedagogy and practice and its influence on student/player learning and has been invited to deliver presentations and workshops on these topics at international, national and regional conferences. Stephen is co-author of Positive Pedagogy for Sport Coaching (2019), Advances in Rugby Coaching: An Holistic Approach (2015), and co-editor of two additional books, Ethics in Youth Sport (2012) and Contemporary Developments in Games Teaching (2014), all published by Routledge. Additionally, Stephen is co-developer of the Coach Analysis Intervention System (CAIS) iPad application by Axis Coaching Technology.
In addition to his research, Stephen possesses a wealth of practical teaching and coaching experience through his continued involvement working with teachers/coaches and students/players in applied settings. For example, Stephen has coached at the junior international level and has worked as a National Governing Body coach educator, which has included delivering seminars for the United States Olympic Committee as part of their National Team Coach Leadership Education Program. Prior to working in Higher Education, Stephen was a licensed physical education teacher and a Further Education Lecturer. |
